But If Not – Sermon by John Thatcher

This sermon is based on a little booklet which was written in 1914. It was written from Keswick, a hamlet in the Lakes district of the UK. At the time of this sermon, I did not know who the author was, but my friend Mark has since found it to be Rev Stuart Holden, Vicar of St. Paul’s in London. It was apparently delivered at the conclusion of some retreat or Bible School for pastors of the Church of England. It addresses disappointed Christianity, to those whose lofty spiritual ambitions may not be realised.
